Obituary of Marjorie Alice Johnstone

December 6, 1934 - November 24, 2024 In her 90th year, our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Marjorie (Marj) Alice Johnstone, passed away at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario. Predeceased by her husband, George "Bob" Johnstone, her sisters Doreen Bailey and Mary Gadsden, and her daughter Kimberley, Marj was a longtime resident of London, Ontario. She is survived by her children: Dan Johnstone and Janna (London, Ont.), Sharon Johnstone (British Columbia), and Brenda Miller and Jim (London, Ont.); her sister, Elaine Cook (Scarborough, Ont.); her brother, John Bigham and Sofie (Brooklin, Ont.); her grandchildren: Chris Miller and Meaghan, Ryan Miller and Samantha, James Miller and Alison, Jessica Miller, Samantha Johnstone, Michelle Johnstone; and her great-grandchildren: Joseph, Liam, and Oliver Miller. Marj is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Her travels took her from Toronto to Gimli, Portage La Prairie, Clinton, Seaforth, North Bay, Denver (USA), Gagennau, Schwarzach (Germany), before bringing here London where she has spent the past 46 years: this amazing mom and Air Force wife just picked up the house, packed up her four kids, and moved. Marj will be forever remembered for her complete devotion to her family, her love of collecting Hummel figurines, and her constant garage sale adventures. Lovingly nicknamed "Junky Johnstone" by her brother, this still brings a smile to us all. If there are Slot Machines in the Sky, we know you will find them. Love you so much. Bye for now Mom. Cremation has been completed, and a private interment will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Donations to a Christmas Charity would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.
