Obituary of Dudley Frederick Nott
Dudley (Doug) Frederick Nott passed away peacefully in London on Thursday May 28, 2020 in his 99th year. Loving husband of Esme´ for 72 years, whom he lost in January. Father to Peter (Linda) and Wendy. Grandfather (“Pops”) to Robyn (Gaven) and Trevor. Great grandfather to Arwynn. Survived by his sister (Joyce), nephew (Andrew - “Little A”) and several generations of nieces and nephews (including fellow family archivist, Simon) in England. Dudley served in the British Royal Air Force in World War II and continued his association with veterans; leading the annual Remembrance Day celebrations at the Royalcliffe retirement residence. Peter and Wendy are forever grateful that they both took the brave decision to bring the family to Canada in 1957 for better opportunities. On arriving to Canada, Dudley “adopted” the Toronto Maple Leafs and remained forever hopeful of another Leafs’ Stanley Cup. He will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him: including his special relationship with Bob Dragicevic and Niomie Massey; and, his friends at Royalcliffe - Kris Johnson and Jehan (“Jay”) Nemat. As per his wishes, there will be no service and cremation has already taken place. The family would like to thank all the staff at Royalcliffe, who were so kind and attentive to both Esme and Dudley.
