I worked with Jerry several times during my early years on the CPR. He was a true gentleman, as I recall one of a small number on the railway that were able to carry on a conversation without swearing throughout.
I always appreciated what you, his family, have described as his "quick wit", to me it was also dry & sometimes amusingly cynical, especially when discussing one of the companies periodic 'goof ups'. Jerry was also a guy that managed to remain calm even when things weren't going as planned.
I was lucky enough to see Jerry a couple of times at the Pensioners meetings, after having not seen him for 20 plus years. How wonderful that he enjoyed a long life & retirement.
My sincere condolences to his family.
