Obituary of Pauli Kaikkonen

I Paul am a Miracle! Pauli (Paul) Kaikkonen of London Ontario peacefully and surrounded by his family went to be with the Lord Jesus at the age of 44 years September 3rd, 2020. Paul is survived by his father Reima (Janice) and his sister Anne (Matthew). Paul was predeceased by his mother Helena (Kujala) in 2011. Paul will be lovingly remembered by aunt Hilkka (Markku) Ketola; aunt Marja (David) Hilfiker, cousins Annemarie, Anita (Steve), and Katriina Ketola, Laurel (JJ), Kai, Karin (Gabriel) and brothers and sisters Marion (Doug) MacDonald, Mark (Jana) Muir, Jessica Foster, Johnathon (Pamela) (Shannon - deceased)Muir, Kathleen (Adam) McInnis, and 17 nieces and nephews including Mika, Jonas, and Arie VanGilst. Paul was predeceased by grandparents Elina and Martti Kaikkonen; Anna and Mauri Kujala; and aunt Pävikki Kaikkonen. Special thanks to Paul’s doctor, Dr. Pepe, the Cheshire, Saint Elizabeth, and VON Homecare teams and to Paul’s neighbour and friend Lesley. Paul faced numerous health challenges throughout his life but in spite of the medical prognosis, Paul surpassed all expectations. Paul was able to walk with braces, drive a vehicle, complete a college diploma program at St. Clair College (Windsor), working in both the insurance and banking sectors. Paul loved to volunteer. As a volunteer driver, Paul regularly transported cancer patients for medical treatment. Over the last ten years, the continuous miracles in Paul’s life made the power of Jesus in his life undeniable. Paul’s contagious smile and hearty laughter made Paul extra special to those who knew him. He loved a good rack of ribs. Originally born on the farm outside Mount Forest, Paul embraced city living in Brampton, Kitchener, Windsor and London. Paul enjoyed music and theatre, attending church, and family get togethers. Paul will be sorely missed. A private funeral for the family will be held at the gravesite. A celebration of Paul’s life with be held at a later date, to accommodate out of country family members.
