Obituary of Peter Neale Regan

After a brave and hard-fought battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, we are heartbroken to share the peaceful passing of Peter Neale Regan, 65, on Wednesday June 16th, 2021 at home, where he wanted to be, surrounded by his family. Peter will be lovingly remembered by his wife, the love of his life, Lissa, and his deeply loved daughters Amy, Sarah (Drew Irvine), Mary (JD Gwalchmai), and Leah (Kenny Locking). The best and silliest Poppa will be missed by his adored grandchildren, Sydney and Thomas Irvine. Peter will also be fondly remembered by his siblings, Shelley (Bill Mackenzie), Sue, Judy (John Hannivan), John (Tracey Swift), Mark, Jeff, and Shannon (Tony Stokes); many much-loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces, great nephews and great niece. Peter was predeceased by his parents Ken and Marion Regan. Peter was blessed with a huge circle of the most amazing, kind, and supportive friends from across Canada and the United States, including his London Knights every Friday night gang, the London Football Referees’ Association, the Fanshawe Optimists, his Bell Canada guys, former North London Soccer and London Minor Football teams, his travel partners, golfing buddies, and so many childhood friends. Our family is eternally grateful to Dr. Saini, Dr. Deotare, Dr. Rahimi and their outstanding teams; Dr. Liu, Dr. Chakraborty and the most wonderful nurses, resident doctors, Kim Turner, and the support team on C7 who gave Peter the most loving care possible throughout his many trips to the hospital; the Palliative Care team including Dr. Hamilton, the nurses from St. Elizabeth and the PSWs from VON; and our family and friends who supported us throughout Peter’s battle. We could not have made it through this without God’s loving guidance and all of you. Care and cremation entrusted to Peggy Bloomfield, a dear friend of the Regan family. Shannon Regan’s generous donation of her stem cells enabled Peter to enjoy many more joyful times with his family and friends. Peter was very grateful to the volunteers in this program who brought him the e-cards that were sent to him while he was in the hospital. These cards brought rays of sunshine to his very long days and nights.
