Our condolences to the MacKenzie family. Bill, and my late father-in-law Ray, we’re by far the most dedicated Crusader baseball fans we had. We always knew they’d keep the umpires in line… We’re sure that same dedication was appreciated by all of you, his students, his teammates and his friends…

Mr MacKenzie was my science and design+tech teacher for grade 7 and 8. He was always so incredibly kind and patient. He was able to find that perfect balance between letting us have some independence but also being available when we needed him. He was attentive and funny and could fix any problems we encountered in our design+tech class... and there were always problems in that class. I don't know how Mr MacKenzie kept it together, honestly!
I remember one day in grade 8, a few of us were driving with him somewhere and the song "Tubthumping" by Chumbawamba came on. He was curious if we young teens would have any insight into this crazy song. Unfortunately we didn't, but it was a pretty funny conversation to have with your teacher!
He was a very special teacher and I'm grateful to have known him.
I can only imagine what a special husband, dad, and grandpa he was.
Sending you much love
xoxo
Carly

Dear Shelley and Family,
My mother was a great friend of Aunt Louise and Bill's mom Ruth; and I was acquainted with Bill and Mary as I grew up in St. Thomas.
A few years ago, it was a pleasure to run into Bill at Tim Horton's in Lambeth and we enjoyed catching up on some events of the past.
I'm sorry to hear of his death, and want to pass on my condolences to you. May his memory be a Blessing, as you move through these days of grief....Joan Bolt
