Jim became a lifelong friend of Ron Strupat during their teen years growing up in London during the Great Depression of the 1930's. . These 2 pictures from Summer 1953 have the growing Garrity family visiting the Strupat estate! We lived in a brand new VLA subdivision South of the city, surrounded by farm fields. No trees, no bushes and barely any grass either! Jim & Jean seemed to be the favoured partners of Ron & Jean (how confusing) to get dressed up and go dancing somewhere. I'm thinking Wonderland Gardens, maybe the Stork Club in Port Stanley and special occasions like VE Day at the AIr Force/Navy Club? Jim and Jean were always welcome in our family home and away on vacations. You will not be forgotten.
