Age 89, of London, Ontario, peacefully passed away on March 23, 2023 at LHSC - University Hospital. Margaret was born March 11, 1935 to Helen and Horace Thomson in Montreal, Quebec. Margaret was married to Harley Rath on August 16, 1958 and they had three children. Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her children Craig with partner Marilyn, son Warren as well her brother John Thomson, her daughter Jennifer who we lost in 2021 was survived by her husband Gary Umphrey and son William. Also survived by her grandchildren: Katie, husband Trevor with 5 great grandchildren, Jonathan and fiancée Natasha. She was predeceased by her loving husband Harley and her parents Helen and Tommy Thomson. Margaret started out her teaching career which led to meeting Harley at a teacher's bowling function and their love blossomed from there. Their first home was in Oakridge acres and soon moved to a farm in Komoka. Margaret gave up her full-time teaching position to stay at home to raise her kids. She eventually learned to farm cattle at the Denfield farm, where she also started a horse boarding operation. While growing up, she enjoyed getting away to the cottage with her parents. This tradition continued with her own family. They also spent many winters in Destin, Florida with very good friends playing bridge, her favorite card game. Marg loved to travel and had a great interest in the cultures of other countries throughout Europe. Marg loved to have family together with great home cooked meals as she was an excellent cook. We will all miss you and always carry you in our hearts. Love you Mom, forever.
