Obituary of George Dwayne Thompson
It is with much love and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing on Saturday May 18th, 2024 of George Thompson in his 88th year. Loving husband to Connie for 68 years. Dear father of Deb (Don Mills) and Brad (Liz Melvin). Adoring grampa to his grandchildren Stephanie (John Karantonis), Brittany (Chris Hale), Ashley (Ian Fader), and Kristin (Kyle Collins) and great-grandchildren Jacob, Brooklyn, and Bennett.
George was dedicated to his family. He had a lifelong interest in automobiles and hockey. George was a long-term employee of John Labatt Ltd., retiring as Transportation Manager of Canada.
At the family’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place. A private family gathering will take place on a later date at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to all caregivers at St. Joseph’s Hospice for their compassion, care, support, and humanity. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
