Obituary
Obituary of Joseph Louis Leon Breau
Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at University Hospital in London, ON, on Thursday, June 6th, 2024, his 86th birthday. Cherished father of Steven (Lori) and Jeffery Breau and caring grandfather of Rebecca and Samantha (Payton) Breau of London.
Leo spent his years working on the underground tunnels in Southwestern Ontario and in the Automotive industry, earning the Grand Sales Master award from Central Chevrolet before founding Can Do Construction where he stayed until retirement. During retirement, Leo found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. As a long-time member of Greenhills Country Club, golf was not just a sport to him, but a cherished pastime that brought him great joy. His time was spent playing rounds of euchre, watching his beloved Montreal Canadiens, and cheering for Brooke Henderson, his favorite golfer. And when it came to dining, Leo had a particular fondness for lobster dinners. He always had a handkerchief to spare, a joke to share, and golf advice to give to anyone who would listen.
Leo is survived by his siblings; John (Noella), Gerald (Helen), Emery (late Marie), Viola Cassie (late Louis) of Ontario, as well as Robert and Dianne Bastarache (late Guy) of New Brunswick, sister-in-law Annie Breau, brother-in-law Aurella Breau of Port Colborne, Donna (Henk) Gaasenbeek of Hanover, Linda (Bruce) Keown of Mississauga, Sharon (late Bob) Meilleur of North Bay, and his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Leo was predeceased by his wife Roberta “Bobbi”, infant daughter Susan, parents Amédée and Emerise Breau (LeBlanc), brothers Laurie, Joseph, and Ulysse, and sisters Louise and Jeanne.
The family extends sincere thanks for the wonderful care received by the staff at the London Health Sciences Centre. In keeping with Leo’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
