I was deeply saddened by the news of Louis passing. It has taken me a while to be able to put my feelings into words. I first met Louis when we started on OAA council together in 2005. We immediately hit it off having common values, ideals, interests and sense of humour. I found him to be a man of great integrity and extremely dedicated to his profession of Architecture. The fact he served on OAA Council for a six year term in the 1990's and again from 2005 for another six years is a testament to that. He was soft spoken but when he did speak it was always valuable. We became good friends while on Council and that friendship deepened over the years that followed. I will miss our long chats, occasional adventures and despite our best intentions, never getting the chance to go riding together. A dedicated family man, he loved his family very much and they were always on the periphery of our conversations. He was not only a gentle man, a gentle soul, but to me, the personification of a Gentleman. I am honoured to have known him and to have been able to call him my friend. He is and will be greatly missed.
He is now with his beloved Sally.
Be at peace my friend.

I’m saddened by the news of Louis’ passing away but know that he is in a good place. He was a gentle soul, compassionate and a committed architect who served his profession well beyond what would be normally expected of anyone. I was fortunate to have known him from the time my family and I moved to London where he was actively involved with the London Society of Architects. Later, he served on OAA Council.
God rest his soul.

So very sorry to hear of John's death. He came into my life comparatively recently as I am a UK cousin. Although I did not know John for very many years I soon realised what a gentleman he was. He also had a very wicked, dry sense of humour and we got along very well. He enjoyed time with his UK cousins when he visited and we have some good memories of him - especially the family social occasions he attended. I attach a photo of one of these.
Condolences to all his family in Canada.

I am so sad to hear of Louis' passing. I remember him as a past member of OAA Council who was a kind, thoughtful and classy man. He was such a pleasure to work with and he will be truly missed.

We are so sorry to hear of Louis passing. Our fond memories take us back to London in the early days when Louis and Sally arrived from England, and Joe and I arrived from Prince Edward Island. We became fast friends and spent many great times together over the years. Louis introduced us to sailing. We introduced him to skiing. Our deepest condolences to Michelle and Sarah Anne. Your dad was a wonderful friend and a great man. He will be greatly missed by all.

As a childhood friend of Michele and Sarah Anne, I shared many meals with Louis and Sally. Their home was always so welcoming and comfortable. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. Sending my love and condolences.

So many memories of dear Uncle Louis but my happiest ones are of our holidays in Canada, trick or treating and playing in the snow. You'll be very missed but the memories will always remain. Xxx
