Obituary of Dale Robert Capener

After a fierce 10-month battle with cancer, Dale passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospice in London, Ontario, on October 4, 2023, at the age of 62. He is survived by his loving life partner of 26 years, Steven Hettinger. Dale was the second youngest child of the late John (2013) and Louise (2010) Capener. He was part of a close-knit family of siblings: Robin Repasy, Jackie Iredale, Morris Capener, John Capener, Nancy Clarkson, the late Edward Capener (2022), and the late James Capener (1984). He was also loved by his in-laws: John Repasy, Yvette, Lyn and Debbie Capener, Andrea Hettinger, Robert Hettinger, the late Bob Iredale (2016) and the late Paul Clarkson (1998). He was an adoring uncle, great uncle and friend. Dale had many artistic and creative outlets throughout his lifetime including Drum Corps as a member of the Cavaliers (Chicago, Ill), interior design and culinary arts. Born in London, Ontario, but also lived for many years in Ottawa and Toronto. Many thanks to the amazing caregivers of the St. Joseph's Hospice palliative care unit. Cremation has taken place; a celebration of life will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Hospice London, Ontario.
